The four players on Inter’s shortlist for midfield reinforcement

The four players on Inter’s shortlist for midfield reinforcement

Inter will make a sort of summer revolution in the upcoming transfer window. Roberto Mancini wants to close the gap with Juventus and has already completed the signings of Cristian Ansaldi, Ever Banega and Caner Erkin.
The true issue, however, is in the middle of the pitch. The former Man City gaffer urges to add depth and quality to the nerazzurri’s midfield.

No secret that Mancini’s number one option is Yaya Touré. The player’s wages at the Etihad Stadium is € 11 million a year, Inter would offer € 5 million and a three-year-deal. Given his age (33) Touré could be tempted by this opportunity, not to mention that his contract expires in June 2017.

Inter have yet to reach agreement with Manchester City that might ask a small compensation to allow the player’s departure (€ 3-5 million?)

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the number one alternative to Yaya is Axel Witsel who is also chased by Juventus, Napoli and Milan. The Belgium International’s contract also expires next summer, but Zenit have slapped € 30 million price-tag.

The player’s salary is in the region of € 4.5 million and he would like to come to Italy, though he’d prefer playing Champions League football next season.

What about wingers? Antonio Candreva and Domenico Berardi are the hottest names on Mancini’s shortlist. Sassuolo are willing to sell the promising Italian winger who has just rejected a move to Juventus, that’s why Inter might increase the offer for Candreva to € 20 million.

In the meantime Ivan Perisic’s agent has confirmed that his client doesn’t want to leave Inter: ‘He’s happy in Milan and wants to win trophies with Inter’. Arsenal and Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in signing the Croatian star.
