Bayern Munich, Lahm: "I will not be extending my contract"
He told Kicker that; “I have some projects in mind that are related to football, but I can say now that I will retire at the end of my current deal”. The 32-year-old continued by explaining that; “For now, I’m just focusing on playing but who knows what I’ll do when I hang up my boots”.
The German World Cup winner has been hotly tipped to replace Matthias Sammer as Sporting Director at Bayern. When asked if there was any truth in this he replied; “It’s an honour that my name has been mentioned in these circles, I’ve been here for 20 years and I can imagine myself working here when I finish as a player. But now is not the time to talk about this, I’ve got two more years in front of me as a footballer”.
