Could Sampdoria - Milan be cancelled because of torrential rain?

Oh dear, it looks like Milan’s Friday night early game against Sampdoria may well be cancelled.

Following heavy rains last weekend, Genoa - Fiorentina was suspended due to flooding, and the weather in the Ligurian capital isn’t set to improve tomorrow.

The municipality has already decreed a state of alert for tomorrow, something hardly new, seeing as four of the last 10 postponed Serie A games were all supposed to take place in Genoa.

The problem isn’t just the pitch, but also access to the stadium, situated as it is in a city which sits between the Apennines and the sea - with many streets sloping - and which also includes a number of streams.
