Forget the BBC, Morata is Real Madrid's highest scorer so far | by Angelo Taglieri

Alvaro Morata looks like he’s capturing the hearts of Real Madrid, something Juventus fans can relate to. Scorer of 27 goals in his time in Turin, the Recompra target has since shown that he is capable of doing this in La Liga, too, recently adding another goal against Leganes.

There’s a reason the Real faithful is so crazy about Morata: while he’s cost nowhere near as much as his most illustrious peers, he’s already scored more goals than each BBC member.

The Academy product leads the Merengues’ forward line with eight strikes so far, leaving Karim Benzema, Christian Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in the lurch with 5, 7 and 7 respectively.

There’s more: Morata hasn’t had the same minutes, only managing 821. That’s nine less than Benzema, and a whole lot less than Bale’s 1164, or indeed C-Ron’s 1038.

These are important numbers, especially with Karim Benzema’s recent injury. The French international’s absence gives Morata a huge chance: that of starting against Atletico Madrid after the international break.
