Joao Mario says that De Boer is not the only one to be blamed for Inter crisis

Inter midfielder Joao Mario has released an interview with Premium Sport talking about his first months at Inter, including the sacking of Frank De Boer who was fired by the club 84 days after his appointment. The Dutch boss had lost seven of the opening 14 games of the season.

De Boer’s problems were the same problems that the whole team was having. Managers always pay the highest price but he’s not the only one to be blamed for Inter crisis.”

“I liked working with him, he is a nice person and he treated me well. Now, however, it’s time to concentrate on the future and I don’t want to talk about what happened in the past anymore, we only need to focus and work hard to improve.”

Pioli has a great mentality and his trainings are also good. I like his style but he’s only been working here for four days, I hope he can help us. He has asked us to give our best.”

“Our target is still to qualify to Champions League. We can still make it, we have great players and we must win many games to finish the season in second or third position. I want to play a European competition [he’s out of Inter’s Europa League squad due to FFP rules], I am looking forward to it.”

“The derby will be a tough game, I hope we can win it. A 1-0 win would be a perfect result for us.”
