    Milan analysis: Donnarumma's record-breaking season

Oh Gigi, it's been a heck of a season. Remember when Milan first played Sassuolo, and many of us thought Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was out of his mind for resting Diego Lopez in favour of young prodigy Donnarumma? How things have changed!

Now a highly-toughted, highly-sought out goalkeeper, the 17-year-old (who made his debut when he was 16) is boasting some impressive stats, too: he's second-lowest in Serie A for goals conceded per game (0.74, only Buffon has less) , first for save percentage (78.7%), second in save percentage on shots from inside the penalty area (70.7%, behind Inter' Samir Handanovic), fifth in saves from outside the penalty area (92%).

It is now becoming apparent that, to Milan, Gigi is the goalkeeper of the future. He will soon renew his contract to 2019, because, as a minor, he can't sign deals for longer than 3 years. Galliani and Raiola, however, already have a plan for his passage to manhood... a five-year, one-million-a-year deal. Not bad!
