EXCLUSIVE: Sanchez climbing the list of Juve summer targets
Alexis Sanchez is a player who is liked by Marotta and Juventus. Their interest in the Chilean international is nothing new having been close to taking the player from Udinese and then from Barcelona.
A versatile player, the 27-year-old prefers playing out wide but he has exceptional technique and is quick at spotting a goalscoring opportunities and taking them. When he joined Barcelona from Udinese in 2011 he was expected to move up to the next level but the Catalan giants failed to find his best position in the team and he was sold to Arsenal. After a devastating first season with the Gunners, injury has played its part during the current campaign and the player has been a shadow of his former self. The current climate that surrounds the Premier League club has left Sanchez pondering his future and it’s believed he will sit down and discuss his future with the club’s directors very soon. With two-years left on his current contract, now may be the time for Arsenal to cash in on one of their prized assets.
Juventus will now return for a third assault on the player that they see as a potential successor to Alvaro Morata, who seems certain to head back to Real Madrid this summer. We also know that Los Blancos may then look to sell the Spanish international and one team that has been constantly linked with his signature is of course…Arsenal.
The Chilean may also prefer a move back to Serie A and back to a club that he knows well and who he knows are keen admirers. Juventus see him as the perfect foil for Paulo Dybala or even a direct replacement and this could be key, because at the start of next season, the Argentine frontman will be in Rio representing his country at the Olympic Games.
