SCOUTING REPORT: Brandt is like Muller, Juve continues to monitor

The boy who became great; six consecutive goals in the Bundesliga at just 20 years old hasn’t been achieved since the days of the legendary Gerd Muller. Bayer Leverkusen’s young striker Julien Brandt has been the talk of the Bundesliga and his sensational form has kept his team on course for next season’s Champions League.

    MATURITY COMPLETE
Bought from Wolfsburg for only €350,000, Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt has converted Brandt from an orthodox number 10 into an attacking wide player, adept on both left and right wings. The maturity he has shown over the season has also not gone unnoticed at international level, with Germany Head Coach Joachim Loew following his progress with interest for both club and country, where he has become an integral part of the Under 21 national team.

    JUVENTUS CONTINUE TO STUDY
Both Brandt and Draxler (whose first name is also Julien) have been names that the bianconeri has followed closely. The latter as you know, having rejected a move to Turin last summer. Brandt however, remains in the viewfinder of Paratici, who recognises he could become one of Europe’s top talents. The player is currently tied to the Bundesliga side until 2019 and his valuation is growing with every passing season. Juventus meanwhile, continues to monitor his progress.
