Doumbia: "Roma punished me for refusing to go to China"

Former Roma striker Seydou Doumbia has been talking to tageswoche.ch and he fired a broadside at his former club. The Ivorian explained that; “In Moscow everything went perfectly and I would have liked to have finished the season in Russia, but with Roma it was impossible and they wanted to sell me to China”.
He continued; “When I refused they made me train three times a day as punishment. Then they sent me on-loan to Newcastle and I was told I would be sold to anyone but not back to CSKA Moscow. Now I’m in Basel and I hope to stay longer than a year and give satisfaction to the fans”.
