Monaco GK Subasic: I turned down Roma!
Danijel Subasic, who has been with AS Monaco since 2011, told L'Equipe that the Giallorossi came knocking, presumably at the start of this season.
"I had the chance to leave, to play for a team that was competing in the Champions League [Roma].
"I told Vadim Vasilyev that I wanted to stay, I'm just too happy here".
The Giallorossi's goalkeeping situation has been a headache since last season, when incumbent Morgan De Sanctis made a series of shocking mistakes. This led to his being demoted to the bench in favour of Wojciech Szczesny, though he hasn't fully convinced either.
The Croatian international went further: "I love everything here in Monaco, I want to end my career here".
