PAPER TALK: Reasons behind Witsel ans Wilshere’s collapsed Serie A moves revealed

Axel Witsel’s Juventus collapsed deal is definitely the most interesting news of the day on all Italian papers.
The Belgian was close to joining the Old Lady with all the documents that had been already signed by both the player and the Serie A side. The Russians took too long to give the player the green light and the deal collapsed.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport,Zenit’s delay was due to their pursuit of a replacement for the Belgium International. Having found no player to replace Witsel, Zenit gave Juventus the green light too late, when the Old Lady had no more time to register the player’s contract.

Witsel will be now offered to join the J Stadium in January or at the end of the season on a free transfer.
Another midfielder was close to joining a Serie A club yesterday, before his move collapsed. We are talking about Jack Wilshere who had been in transfer talks with AS Roma and had even agreed personal terms with the capitolines.

Roma and Arsenal, however, failed to find agreement over the Englishman’s move. AS Roma were reportedly ready to pay the 80% of the player’s salary, Arsenal wanted AS Roma to pay more and the deal eventually collapsed with Wilshere who joined Bournemouth instead.
