PSG: Cavani stalling on a new contract
Over the past few months, Paris Saint-Germain has been negotiating with representatives of Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani over a new deal in the French capital. Latest reports however, suggest that the 29-year-old is still unsure where his future lies.
Sporting Director Patrick Kluivert is waiting for a response from the player on a three-year extension to his current deal which expires in 2018. So far, there has been no indication from Cavani if he will remain in Paris beyond the current season.
The former Napoli frontman has always maintained that he is happy in the capital but that his decision on his future will be taken for the good of his family and not for football reasons. Across the English Channel, there is constant speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United the most likely destination. A lot could also hinge on what happens this season both domestically and in Europe; so far there is great room for improvement on both counts.
