Alibaba source: ‘Berlusconi not willing to sell AC Milan, Jack Ma not interested’

China group Alibaba has been revealed as the company which is aiming to acquire a majority share of AC Milan, but sources from the Chinese group have denied that the company’s owner Jack Ma is really interested in taking full control of the Serie A club.

“Silvio Berlusconi will not sell AC Milan to Alibaba”, an Alibaba source told Italian press agency AGI.

“We have the feeling that Mr. Berlusconi is still not ready to sell his club to a Chinese company and also Alibaba’s owner Jack Ma is not interested in buying AC Milan.”

“Some time ago he [Jack Ma] told me that having already financed Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande he has no interest in acquiring another football club.”

“Other Chinese investors could be involved in negotiations to take over at the club, but it is something uncommon for a Chinese group to make such a huge investment without a well-defined plan.”
