Why Shanghai Shenhua refused to sign Jeremy Menez

Not only Luiz Adriano’s collapsed deal to Jiangsu Suning, another Chinese club were closing in on the signing of a Milan striker as last years’ Rossoneri top-scorer Jeremy Menez received an offer to join Shanghai Shenhua last week.

According to Le10Sports.com, representatives from the Chinese club met the player’s entourage a few days ago, but the Frenchman’s economic requests discouraged Shanghai Shenhua from closing the deal.

Menez, reportedly asked € 10 million a year for three years, while Shanghai had ‘only’ offered the player € 7 million per season, the same salary they’ve proposed to Loic Remy.

Not a good news for Milan as the Rossoneri had already agreed to sell the player for a  fee in the region of € 10 million. While money coming from China are getting reach lot of European clubs, Milan have found hard to pack and send a couple of their players to the far east.
