AC Milan eye Genoa starlet Armando Izzo to replace departing Mexes

AC Milan will be looking to sign Alessio Romagnoli’s defensive partner next season and Genoa starlet Armando Izzo has been already shortlisted as a possible solution for the Rossonieri’s defense, Il Corriere dello Sport claims.

The 23-year-old central defender’s price-tag is not too expensive and it is no secret that Milan and Genoa are on good terms since ages. Izzo’s price-tag is believed to be in the region of € 2 million.

The promising centre-back will probably replace departing Philippe Mexes as the Frenchman’s contract expires in June.

The former AS Roma defender has only played five games under Sinisa Mihajlovic this term, also because of a knee injury that had sidelined him for the last couple months.
Mexes, 33, came back to training today and, according to CM.com’s Federico Albrizio, Ligue 1 side Marseille would be ready to sign him as a free agent next summer.
