Inter set to challenge AC Milan with bid for top midfield target

Inter have entered the race to sign AC Milan target Milan Badelj who is said to be a top midfield target of the rossoneri that have been tracking the Croatia International since last summer when Vincenzo Montella asked the Serie A club to sign his former player at Fiorentina.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, new Inter manager Stefano Pioli has requested a new regista in the January transfer window and with Badelj who is available for € 15 million, the Croatian midfielder could be the answer to the nerazzurri’s needs.

Inter director of sport Piero Ausilio has already made contact with the player’s entourage hoping to persuade Fiorentina once they have reached a verbal agreement with the player.

AC Milan, however, are said to have already made an offer for the 27-year-old midfielder, though the rossoneri’s €9 million bid is likely to be rejected by LaViola.

The Milan derby’s kick off is in the week-end, but competition between both Milan sides has already begun.
