    Meunier not likely to join Inter as Barça rule out Montoya return

    Talking to the Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona’s Sporting Director Robert Fernandez ruled out Martin Montoya’s return to the Nou Camp in January as the product of the Catalans’ Cantera has failed to blaze a trail at Inter as he still has to make his debut with the Nerazzurri shirt.

    “Montoya will continue to play with Inter and he won’t be back at Barcelona in January”, Fernandez told the Spanish journalists.

    Inter paid € 1.3 million for the 24-year-old loan with the inclusion of a mandatory € 6 million buy-out clause in case Montoya will play at least the 33% of Inter’s seasonal games (playing at least 30 minutes).

    In case the Spaniard will real remain at San Siro until the end of the season, Inter will turn down the opportunity to sign Thomas Meunier from Club Bruges.
