Real Madrid have first-option clause on three Borussia Dortmund stars

Real Madrid have a first option clause on Borussia Dortmund stars Julian Weigl, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembelé, Spanish newspaper Marca reports. The two clubs played each other in Champions League yesterday with the Bundesliga giants who recovered from two goals down and managed to snatch a 2-2 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu qualifying as group winners.

According to the Spanish newspaper, yesterday’s meeting was used by the LaLiga giants to enter transfer talks for three of the best players of BVB with the last Champions League winners who managed to snatch a first-option clause to sign all of them.

What does first-option clause mean? Simply that if any other club make an official offer to sign Weigl, Aubameyang or Dembelé, then Borussia Dortmund must inform Real Madrid and allow them to match any offer they’ve received.

Real Madrid have received a two-window transfer ban and will only be able to register new signings from January 2018.
