Sacchi vs. Mancini ‘Inter’s style of play is obsolete’

Former Milan and senior Italy national team Arrigo Sacchi gave Inter’s boss Roberto Mancini both barrels while attending a meeting about sports and welfare in Milan.

“Inter’s style of play is obsolete. It is only appreciated in Italy because here winning is the only thing that matters, while this kind of football wouldn’t be enjoyed abroad.”

“Outside of Italy, football is considered as something that you have to enjoy, while in Italy we are not having this conception. Football is not considered as a sport because sometimes we just don’t respect rules. Think about all the scandals that Italian football had to face in the last few years.”

It is not the first time that the 69-year-old criticize harshly a Serie A manager as during the last campaign he argued with Juventus’ manager Massimiliano Allegri following a Bianconeri’s scoreless stalemate against Atletico Madrid in Champions League, accusing the manager of deploying overly defensive tactics.
