Spalletti calls out Totti, uses video to compare him to Salah

Luciano Spalletti has gone balls to the wall in his latest pre-match press conference. With Roma travelling to Empoli (the Tuscan's former stomping ground), the talk was completely focussed on the present, not the past.

"I don't want to talk about what happened with Totti" Spalletti told assembled media at Trigoria.

"I can only add that I would do the same thing again, and with anyone. The team comes before any player".

The former Sampdoria and Zenit manager then went full tape on the media members present, showing everyone a video in which "after scoring the fourth [4-0], Mohamed Salah tracks back to help the defence. That's what I want to see."

"This team needs culture, style and players with great values if it is to set itself, and reach, prestigious objectives. I need to set an example for my players".

Spalletti then focussed on Saturday's opponents: "Empoli play one of the best brands of football in Italy, I really have to compliment them for that. They play with the same mentality regardless of the opponent, and Giampaolo is proving to be a great coach".
