Chelsea: Antonio Conte blocks Cesc Fabregas’ exit

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas will go nowhere in the January transfer window despite lack of game time at the Stamford Bridge this season. The Spaniard is being linked with leaving the South-West London club in the incoming transfer window, but the Italian tactician has denied that the former Barcelona star is set to leave the club.

“Fabregas is an important player for us and I want him to stay at Chelsea”, the Italian tactician told British media yesterday ahead of today’s Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion.

Fabregas, 29, has played 477 minutes in all competitions under Antonio Conte at Chelsea so far this season, but has managed two goals and three assists in that time. The Spanish midfielder was a summer target of both Inter and AC Milan and the two Serie A giants have been rumoured to be still interested in welcoming the services of the talented Chelsea star in January, but Antonio Conte’s words have permanently frustrated both Serie A sides’ hopes.
