EXCLUSIVE ROMANO : Darmian, Inter had given their approval on a move : the scenarios

A return to Italy? Why not. Matteo Darmian really evaluated his options this past summer. Roma had interest in him before they finally signed Bruno Peres and Napoli also made an attempt for him. Then in the last days of August, Inter came calling but in the end Darmian stayed with United.

Darmian yes, Mourinho no: Inter tryied to get Darmian in an official way as they sent an official letter to United for the Italian wingback on the last Friday of the transfer window. Manchester United did not bite as they kept Darmian since Mourinho really likes the player a lot. Darmian’s versatility is something the Mourinho likes but having that said, he will have a hard time to find starting minutes at United. Inter had offered him an important proposal which he was ready to say yes to but then in the end , a deal failed to materialize.

Suning aren’t the only ones: Many teams will try to get him in January, Inter being the first in line. Juventus is another team who will consider him especially if Lichtsteiner is to leave Turin. Fiorentina have also targeted the player especially now that Alonso joined Chelsea. The main problem remains Mourinho: he wants to keep Darmian and it will be very difficult for him to change his mind.
