JUST IN: Banega to undergo Inter medical THIS WEEK!
The Sevilla star is expected to undergo a medical in Milan in the week, according to Tuttosport.
As we have previously reported, Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio had secretly begun negotiations about the Argentine during one of this routine visits to Spain in December.
From there, Banega and the Beneamata have inched closer to their current agreement: the 27-year-old will sign a three-year deal worth €3 million a year, with a €2.6 million signing bonus thrown in.
Banega had also been a transfer target for rivals Juventus, Roma and Milan.
For those who were hoping that the Argentine would stay at the Sanchez Pizjuan through the extension clause that has emerged over the past few days... there's a development.
The clause can only be excercised by Banega, not the club. Many Inter (and Juventus!) fans feared that he would be forced to stay once he reached 30 appearances this season. That is not the case.
