Manchester United target James Rodriguez ‘going nowhere’ claims Zidane

Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez is known to be a long-time target of Manchester United that have been linked with welcoming the Colombian star’s services since last summer.

James Rodriguez’s lack of game time at the Santiago Bernabeu has given the Red Devils hope that the LaLiga giants would be open to sell him in the near future, but Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has played down exit rumours claiming that he wants the Colombian star to stay at the club.

“I’m aware that James has not been playing consistently”, Zidane told Spanish media on Saturday.

“I know he wants to get more game time, but I also have to think about the team’s good. James is an important player for us and I want him to stay.”

James Rodriguez, 25, joined Real Madrid from AS Monaco in a shock € 75 million move back in 2014. The former Porto starlet has only played 470 minutes this term, managing seven assists and one goal in nine appearances.
