Napoli and Belgian midfielder Dries Mertens has been talking to Mediaset Premium about his club’s current problems. He explained that; “It’s not a positive moment for sure but in the last game against Lazio we had 21 shots at goal and we must now start to convert these into goals”.
 

He continued; “I know we have a great team and our ambition is to win the championship. If we continue working hard the results will come. We have two big games coming up against Udinese and Dynamo Kiev. If we beat them and the other match is a draw we are through to the knockout-phase of the Champions League. I want to stay in Napoli and I hope to renew my contract in the coming weeks”.  

Mertens scored a brace for his country in their 8-1 demolition of Estonia on Sunday night to cement their place at the top of World Cup Qualifying Group H.
