STAT ATTACK: Bruno Peres v Alex Sandro key to Juventus - Torino clash

    • Edo Dalmonte, @edodalmonte
Tonight's clash at the Juventus Stadium is more than just a Coppa Italia game. More, even, than a Derby della Mole that has reacquired some of its old prestige. With Torino repeatedly pushing Juventus - and finally beating them this year for the first time in 20 years - tonight's game is a chance for the Granata to avenge their recent, last-gasp 2-1 defeat at the Stadium, which came courtesy of a Juan Cuadrado goal.

But it is the man who provided the key assist who is the focus of this piece. Derided by some as a
25 million flop when he began the season on the bench, former Porto star Alex Sandro has since performed well, finally providing Juventus with the left-back they've been looking for.

Sandro isn't just trying to impress Coach Allegri, however: he also has Selecao Coach Dunga in his sights, as does... Bruno Peres, who will be playing opposite him for Torino.

Peres himself has become a folk hero in Turin following, er, THIS incredible run and shot.

It was Torino's first goal in the Derby in 12 years. Pity they lost anyway, to ANOTHER last minute goal... this time by Andrea Pirlo.

Tonight, two talented Brazilians will fight for the same flank for 90 minutes, hoping that their brave forays won't be ruthlessly exploited by the other. It'll be a thriller.

Below are their OPTA stats for the 2015-2016 season.
