Duncan: from downing Milan to being courted by Arsenal and Tottenham

Oh, Inter. Few fans will remember when they decided to ship off young midfielder Alfred Duncan to Sassuolo to Sassuolo for 2.5 million.

He's come along very nicely for the Neroverdi since, capping off a promising string of performances with a screamer against Milan at the weekend (thanks to Carlos Bacca forgetting his assignment), helping Sassuolo to a convincing 2-0 win.

The 22-year-old midfielder is now a key cog in Eusebio Di Francesco's midfield, and is now a transfer target for both Tottenham and Arsenal, who will likely have to fork out
    10-15 million for him.

What would they be getting for that money? A player who has starred in 25 games in all competitions, including 20 as a starter, and is the prototypical modern midfielder, with great tackling (30 of them won) and coverage skills (he's made 27 interceptions, and 2 key clearances). His technical repertoire also includes great passing (43% to the attackers, with 76% accuracy), with 30 chances created and 3 assists. Though currently owned by Sampdoria, he's at Sassuolo on a loan with compulsory a buyback clause of
    6 million.

And to think that Inter could have really done with someone with his skill-set. And a player who can score against Milan. They're quite the rarity these days.
