Sassuolo, Carnevali: ‘Juventus option for Berardi has no expiration date’

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali talked about the neroverdi’s summer strategy during an interview released with Il Corriere dello Sport.

“Seeing Italian clubs bought by foreign consortium is a bit sad, because it’s just happing for business. Juventus have proved it is possible to work in a certain way and having Italian players is a starting point which is also very important to us. We only have three foreign players out of 25.”

“I am on really good terms with Beppe Marotta and Juventus’ option to sign Berardi has no expiration date. The player has also offers from other big clubs, but we’ll decide his future in short while meeting both him and Juventus. Stefano Sensi will join us in the summer, but his future could be the same as Berardi’s.”

“We are open to talk with any other club, but we don’t need to sell our players. We are always looking for the best prospects, we want to buy them before their price-tag increase, that’s what we did with Trotta, Sensi and Mazzitelli.”

“If we sell a player it means that his adventure here is over, we are not in desperate need of money. Vrsaljko has many offers too, but we don’t want to sell all our best players.”
